Right now, I’m seeing the challenges leaders are coming up against firsthand.
The biggest challenge facing organisations today isn’t technology, hybrid work, or even the relentless pace of change.
It’s leadership capability under pressure.
In my research, according to Gallup’s State of the Global Workplace 2026 report, only 21% of Australian employees are engaged at work. This is a clear signal that many people aren’t experiencing the connection, clarity, and leadership they need to perform at their best.
As artificial intelligence rapidly transforms how we work, organisations are understandably investing in technical capability. But we must also ramp up the human skills, not just the artificial ones. The human skills are what will differentiate Limitless leaders and organisations.
AI can provide information, generate ideas, and automate processes. It can’t replace genuine connection, empathy, trust, courage, or the ability to bring people together around a shared purpose.
Knowledge alone is no longer power. Anyone can access information and appear to be the smartest person in the room. What will differentiate leaders and brands is their ability to connect, communicate, share lived experiences and stories, and bring out the best in others.
This is central to our Limitless Leaders approach at RG Dynamics.
Limitless Leaders move beyond simply managing tasks, people, and performance. They lead with intention, create clarity, build trust, and develop the human capability needed to lead through uncertainty and change. They remain curious and continue to learn, unlearn, and evolve.
So, how can organisations increase leadership capability?
I’ve suggested a few tried-and-tested ideas here:
Build self-awareness and emotional intelligence
Effective leadership begins with understanding yourself. Leaders need to recognise their triggers, behavioural patterns, and impact on others. Greater self-awareness helps them regulate their emotions, remain curious, and respond thoughtfully under pressure.
Create clarity through meaningful conversations
People can’t perform at their best when expectations, priorities, or decisions are unclear. Leaders need to communicate openly, listen deeply, and create space for honest dialogue. Regular conversations build connection, reduce assumptions, and ensure people understand how their work contributes to the bigger picture.
Develop a coaching mindset
The role of a leader isn’t to have every answer. It’s to ask better questions, unlock thinking, and help others build confidence and capability. A coaching mindset moves leaders away from fixing and directing towards empowering people to take ownership and grow.
Leadership development can’t be treated as a one-off workshop or a tick-box exercise. It needs to be practical, relevant and embedded into the way leaders work every day.
At RG Dynamics, we partner globally with leaders, HR, L&D, and People and Culture teams to develop Limitless Leaders, connected teams, and collaborative cultures through tailored transformational programs, interactive workshops, masterminds, and executive coaching.
In a world accelerating towards artificial intelligence, the organisations that stand out will be those that intentionally strengthen human intelligence and connection.
Is your organisation doing enough to ramp up the human skills, not just the artificial ones?
Lead to be limitless.
