10 Strategies to Limitless Leadership

To achieve limitless leadership, we must focus on what I term the “5 Dimensions of Energy.” This involves applying tools and cultivating new habits to maintain optimal mental, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual energy levels.

The 5 Dimensions of Energy to Lead Effectively

With so much going on, we need to be mindful of our energy and that of others and not just our physical energy but our energy across the five key facets that make us who we are. This approach helps us to be what I call a Limitless Leader.

Self-care is giving the world the best of you instead of what’s left of you

Life gets hectic and the last few years has presented challenges, along with opportunities in more ways than one. We can get caught up in the “doing” of life instead of the “being” and spend a lot of time contributing to our home team, work team and community, that we often forget about serving ourselves.

Boost Human Awareness to Lead with EQ

Simply put, EQ is defined as someone’s ability to recognise, understand, and manage their own emotions, while also recognising, understanding, and influencing the emotions of others.

There are several steps that you can undertake to aid this. First things first – ensure your awareness of self and others is high. If you want to lead and assist in increasing EQ, you need to lead by example.

Create Psychological Safety and Connection through a Gift Mindset

Most of us experience challenges, crises, triumphs, and success in our professional and personal life. Life throws us curveballs. Some are made of glass and hard to catch, some bounce off us and others seem to fall straight into our hands. These experiences are ‘gifts. How we catch (or drop) these gifts depends on our mindset, perspective, beliefs, experiences, values and many other things.

Are we rewarding or punishing our high performers

In recent interactions with high-performing clients, a recurrent theme emerges – they express feeling punished instead of rewarded and acknowledged. But why, you might wonder?

According to their own accounts, this treatment stems from their commitment to excellence, going beyond expectations, and consistently delivering outstanding results.

The 3 Key Blockers to Collaborative Communication

Collaborative communication in the workplace refers to the exchange of information and ideas between team members in order to achieve a common goal. This type of communication takes time and involves active participation, engagement, and mutual support among colleagues, in an environment that has high trust and fosters cooperation and teamwork.

Doing the things that motivate us can account for up to sixty percent of the predictability of our success in a role.

Fortune 500 lose a combined $31 billion per year from employees failing to share knowledge & lessons effectively

Many organizational cultures do not encourage or condone the sharing of challenges or failures. This means that sharing might never enter your mind, especially if your current organization is all you have ever known.

Coaching is the conduit to empower and create future leaders

Coaching within the workplace, is simply a process of delegating thinking to others. Many leaders put off coaching or think they are coaching when, in fact, there is a lot of “telling” going on. My question to them is: “If not now, when?”

Too often than not many of us neglect the importance of creating the space and time to reflect on what we have learnt, where we want to go next and what new boundaries, we need to create to achieve this.

Gratitude- the new strategy to retain talent and create a connective culture

We can be grateful for many things in our lives such as certain people and situations, although most benefits come from others – hence gratitude is known as ‘other-oriented’. It can mean different things to different people, depending on the context. Is gratitude an emotion?

Why saying NO can be more powerful than saying YES

It is pretty powerful that we have the choice to make this year whatever we want it to be.

There are things that aren’t in our control, but the good news is we all have the choice to choose and influence how this year looks both personally and professionally. Like writing a new chapter in a book, you choose the settings, the themes, and the characters. The choices are all yours.

9 Reasons Why Energy Depletion Exists In The Workplace

IIDM Global

Like catching spinning plates, life can be stressful and full of chaos – from family, friends, work, technology and new ideas to our physical and mental health, we face conflicting priorities daily. Working long hours, leading in a hybrid environment, lack of quality sleep and food; a manic mind and stress can zap our energy. Like a battery, we cannot be charged unless we fill our reserves.

Why self-management is the key driver of productivity

Thrive Global

Self-management wins over time management every day. Time is what it is. Time is inelastic; we all get the same amount of it, and I think it’s too easy to blame time and not what we can control being our self-management when it comes to being time-poor.

The Gift Mindset is the Portal to Supercharge Workplace Culture

It’s surprising that many workplaces do not encourage the sharing of challenges or failures and even sometimes the sharing of successes. Therefore, if the culture you work within doesn’t have a focus on sharing lessons, it may be something that never enters your mind or your team, especially if that workplace is all you have ever known.

Inside Retail

Many retail cultures do not encourage the sharing of challenges or failures and even sometimes the sharing of successes. Therefore, if the culture you work within is against sharing lessons, it may be something that never enters your mind or your team’s, especially if that business is all you have ever known. In our home life, this is the same. If you are brought up not to share failures and to just suck it up and get on with it, then chances are this same behaviour will play out in your life.

Don’t use ‘time poor’ as a barrier to leading

Retail World – July 2019

One of the key barriers I find many people leading a business or team face is that they don’t allocate time to leadership. They tend to look at leading others as an “or” instead of an “and”. When you have a team you have a responsibility, leadership is a choice and a decision, not a title that automatically makes you capable and effective.

Q&A with Renée: leading self and self-leadership

Retail World – June 2019

Self-leadership is vitally important as you need to lead self before you can lead others, your business and decisions. Look at it a bit like building a house. You can’t put the frame up without laying a solid foundation first. If that foundation isn’t solid and built right, the house won’t last the test of time, a bit like trying to lead a business and team without leading your self first.

How energetic is your mindset?

‘You are energy. What you think begins it. What you feel amplifies it. What you action will determine what happens next.’ Tapping into your mind, heart and body from an energetic level can greatly assist self-motivation.

Q&A with Renée: how to switch off

Retail World – April 2019

Switching off is a challenge for many, especially when running your own business, as you are usually immersed deeply within it and most of the time over-passionate. Being a business owner for 11 years, I empathise with you and many others facing this challenge, as it is an obtainable one, but not a sustainable one.

Sharing your scars can be beautiful

Thrive Global – March 2019

In Japan, there is an art form called Kintsugi: the art of precious scars. By repairing broken ceramics, it’s possible to give it a new lease of life and it becomes even more refined, thanks to its “scars”. Kintsugi teaches that broken objects are not something to hide but to display with pride. This art form and philosophy got me thinking how alike we are to this as humans with all of our scars, mistakes, lessons and wisdom we learn in this thing called life.

Q&A with Renée: building rapport

Retail World – January 2019

Just like building a house, if we build a strong foundation, the house, like any relationship, has a stronger chance of lasting the test of time. Take the time to build rapport with those around you and remember we can go in and out of rapport, so don’t assume that, once built, it will last. Be mindful of where this is at, at all times.

Q&A with Renée: emotional intelligence

Retail World – December 2018

If you want to be leading and assisting in increasing EI, you need to lead by example. Really master your conflict management, emotional control and social awareness so you’re not just aware and managing your emotions, but also understanding that of others and demonstrating this, day to day, to your team and those around you.
